Hemingway's Birthday

Well it's not a Paris shot, but I thought something should be added for his birthday.
Ernest Miller Hemingway; born in Oak Park, Illinois, July 21, 1899.

  9. I remember the newscast on the day he died, and since DH and I were dating, English majors, and in love with American lit, it made a huge impression on us. Altho some women have over-analyzed Hemingway"s lit, I remain a fan!!

  10. Hello Kate,
Yes, I don't remember the news - but it must have been very dramatic.
I've read that he is becoming popular with a new generation of readers - & the macho image isn't as much of an issue.

While it might seem hard to believe, my father was born in 1877. As Isabella said, what one does in their life sort of determines who remembers them and for what.
